Philips is introducing a new ultrasound system called Alturion following recent marketing clearances in the U.S. and Europe.
The system features AI-powered workflows and is designed for high-volume clinical environments, according to the company. Alturion features a 24-inch monitor and a compact footprint intended to support movement between departments and bedside use. Streamlined workflows are designed to reduce manual adjustments and exam time for high patient volumes, according to the firm.
Alturion includes Elevate Plus, an AI-powered measurement tool for abdominal ultrasound already available on other systems in the Philips ultrasound line. The tool automates measurements and is designed to support reproducibility and reduce variability during exams, the company noted.
The system is part of Philips' connected ultrasound ecosystem, sharing a common user interface and interchangeable transducers with the company's EPIQ Elite and Affiniti ultrasound systems. That compatibility is intended to let sonographers and clinicians use the same transducers across multiple systems, which Philips said can simplify training and support consistent workflows across departments.
Alturion is also compatible with Collaboration Live, Philips' tele-ultrasound platform that allows multiple users to connect remotely for support, training, and consultation, the company noted.
