Fortis Healthcare plans to install the Mevion S250-FIT proton therapy system at Fortis Memorial Research Institute in Gurugram, India.
The institution would be the first healthcare provider in India to introduce utilize the upright proton therapy system, according to the vendor.
The system combines Mevion's compact proton accelerator with Leo Cancer Care's Marie upright patient positioning and integrated CT imaging. Treatment planning will be supported by RaySearch Laboratories' RayStation software. The installation is subject to applicable regulatory approvals and completion of necessary site preparations.
