The American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) has promoted Adam Greathouse to director of health policy.
In his new role, Greathouse will lead ASTRO’s advocacy efforts on priority health policy issues such as reducing prior authorization burdens and supporting reimbursement policies that preserve patient access to high-quality radiation oncology care.

Greathouse will also continue to serve as ASTRO’s staff liaison to the American Medical Association’s Current Procedural Terminology Editorial Panel and the Relative Value Scale Update Committee. He will also represent ASTRO in collaborations with other medical specialty societies to advocate for policies that support physicians and their patients.
Greathouse joined ASTRO in 2021 as senior manager of health policy and was promoted to assistant director of health policy the following year. Before joining ASTRO, he worked in health policy for the American Optometric Association and the ERISA Industry Committee (ERIC). He also holds a law degree from the Valparaiso University School of Law.
