GenesisCare is adding the Varian Edge radiation therapy system from Varian Medical Systems to its Modesto location in Northern California, the company announced.
The healthcare provider cited data from the American Cancer Society indicating that California is projected to have the greatest number of new prostate cancer cases in the U.S.
Varian Edge's technology has been touted by GenesisCare as being able to eradicate tumors while protecting healthy tissues.
