Proton therapy developer Ion Beam Applications (IBA) has taken a down payment for the purchase of its Proteus Plus proton therapy system by the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government in China.
The installation will take place at the Shenzhen Tumor Hospital, with patient treatment expected to begin in 2022. IBA values the contract at approximately 90 million euros ($98 million U.S.).
With the order, IBA has now sold seven proton therapy rooms this year, according to the vendor.
