Radiation therapy software developer RaySearch's RayStation carbon ion therapy treatment planning has been used with a patient in Austria at MedAustron, a center that specializes in ion therapy and research.
This is the first Austrian patient to undergo the treatment, RaySearch said. The treatment took place on July 2 in a patient with an adenocystic carcinoma of the left ear.
MedAustron is headquartered in Wiener Neustadt, according to RaySearch.
