Proton therapy developer Ion Beam Applications (IBA) has won a contract with Singapore healthcare group Parkway Pantai for its Proteus One system.
The contract is valued at 55 million to 65 million Singapore dollars ($40 million to $47 million) and includes construction of a proton therapy facility at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital. Installation of IBA's Proteus One will include the company's pencil-beam scanning and conebeam CT technology.
Long-term operation and maintenance of the new facility are part of a separate agreement, IBA said. Mount Elizabeth Novena anticipates treating its first patients with the system in 2021.
