Radiation oncology vendor Elekta has acquired Acumyn, a spin-off company from the University Hospital Network in Toronto.
The acquisition follows a 2014 agreement that gave Elekta exclusive rights to commercialize Acumyn's integrated quality management software platform, AQUA. The platform can manage all quality assurance tests performed in a radiotherapy clinic and reduce the time they take by automating workflow, according to the companies.
Elekta plans to integrate AQUA across its portfolio and continue to develop its quality assurance products for radiotherapy with the support of Acumyn's expertise.
