Varian Medical Systems has acquired privately held radiation oncology software firm Mobius Medical Systems.
The acquisition expands Varian's portfolio of patient treatment-plan quality assurance (QA) and machine QA technologies, the firm said.
Mobius' QA software is being used at more than 1,000 sites worldwide and includes 3D dose verification software that verifies the clinical process of radiation therapy.
