MRI coil developer ScanMed of Resonance Innovations has introduced its PROCURE (prostate, rectum, ovaries, cervix, uterus, reproductive) wearable MRI coil.
PROCURE is worn similar to a diaper, and it positions multiple antenna elements as close as possible to the target anatomies, according to ScanMed. The antenna set is placed in an enclosure made of flexible, liquid-impermeable, biocompatible materials; disposable liners support changing of the coil between patients, the company said.
The phased-array coil can also be configured to operate with an endorectal probe, as well as with third-party biopsy systems, according to ScanMed.
