Biotronik reports DX milestone

Biomedical device company Biotronik said that the first U.S. patients have received full-body MRI scans while implanted with its DX implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) system.

The first investigational scan occurred on July 7 at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA, according to Biotronik.

(C) Axial contrast-enhanced fat-saturated T1-weighted MRI scan shows an irregular, heterogeneously enhancing mass (arrow) in the left breast, adjacent to the operation site. The final pathologic examination confirmed recurrent invasive ductal carcinoma.
