InSightec lands Health Canada approval

Focused-ultrasound developer InSightec has received Health Canada approval for its ExAblate system.

The third-generation version of ExAblate was approved for MR-guided focused ultrasound treatment of uterine fibroids and for pain palliation of bone metastases, according to the firm. It's now available for Canadian patients.

The final pathologic examination confirmed recurrent invasive ductal carcinoma.
