MR Instruments launches new coil

MRI device developer MR Instruments of Minneapolis is using this week's RSNA meeting to launch TEM 3000, a new head coil for 3-tesla MRI scanners.

TEM 3000 is based on the company's transverse electromagnetic (TEM) technology, which provides higher signal-to-noise ratios, lower specific absorption rates (SAR), and faster study acquisition than previous 3-tesla coil technology, according to the firm.

The coil is compatible with ultra-high-field scanners up to 9.4-tesla, and has received Food and Drug Administration clearance.
