Hermes Medical Solutions has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the company's new version of Hermia Voxel Dosimetry software for estimating radiation dose in nuclear medicine studies.
The product previously received CE marking.
New features include semiautomatic organ segmentation with a machine learning-based algorithm, improved ability to fill in information automatically from the header, reduced calculation times, and automated workflow configuration options.
The company said other improvements include the following:
- Deformable registration for better alignment, accommodating patient movement and breathing corrections.
- Reduced sensitivity to noise.
- Improved compatibility with Spectrum Dynamics Quantitative SPECT
- New features for research use, including dose rate calculations, the ability to add isotopes, and surrogate isotope calculations.
