IZI debuts image-guided surgery markers

IZI Medical Products has introduced Threaded Spherz, reflective markers for image-guided surgery.

Compatible with image-guided surgery systems from BrainLab of Feldkirchen, Germany, Threaded Spherz provide autoregistration and localization of anatomical structures for wireless tracking of the position and orientation of any device from a frame of reference, according to the Baltimore-based firm.

Threaded Spherz are visible on x-ray and CT, and will be available during the fourth quarter of 2010, the company said.
