Siemens Healthineers has integrated Vuze2 spinal guidance software into its Cios Spin C-arm system, with plans to expand the integration to its other 2D mobile, 3D mobile, and 3D robotic C-arms.
Vuze2 supports K-wire placement for pedicle screw procedures by fusing preoperative CT or intraoperative cone-beam CT images with intraoperative x-ray images, without requiring external tracking hardware such as optical cameras, instrument markers, or patient-mounted reference frames, according to the vendor. The software is designed to integrate into existing minimally invasive spine surgery workflows, Siemens Healthineers said.
Siemens Healthineers acquired Vuze following a long-term collaboration with the company.
