Combined supine/prone imaging improves CT colonography results

Many believe that CT colonography will one day predominate in the detection of colorectal polyps and cancer. But imaging protocols must be refined before large-scale clinical trials begin. A study published in the September issue of

found that adding prone positioning to supine helps detect more polyps, while adding iodinated oral contrast does not.
