Image reconstruction software developer Medic Vision Imaging Solutions has been granted a patent (No. 9693747) for the company's XR-29 Dose Check software.
The XR-29 Dose Check system is part of Medic Vision's SafeCT-29 product suite of radiation dose reporting software designed to help CT and PET/CT customers comply with the Medical Imaging and Technology Alliance (MITA) Smart Dose standard, also known as XR-29.
The SafeCT-29 product line has received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and has been endorsed by OEMs, according to the company.
Medic Vision said that receipt of the patent will significantly enhance its market position, and the company "fully expects providers of medical imaging services and solutions to respect Medic Vision's patent rights."
