Resonance upgrades CinemaVision

Product enhancements from Resonance Technology of Northridge, CA, that aim at improving patient comfort and the entertainment value of its MRI-compatible CinemaVision audiovisual system will be showcased at the 2010 RSNA meeting.

The firm will debut a low-profile active noise-cancellation headset designed to block MRI gradient noise. An attached digital microphone is equipped with similar active noise cancellation, while its broad-spectrum audio frequency range aids communications between technologists and patients.

Other new products from Resonance Technology to be introduced at the RSNA show include:

  • A flexible thin-film transistor (TFT) video pane/reflective entertainment viewing system featuring a high-definition video display with a mirrored digital stereo audio-video headset for recorded and live patient entertainment
  • A digital MRI-compatible CinemaVision camera mounted directly on the front or rear of the MRI gantry for patient observation
  • A new super extended graphics array (SXGA) head-mounted display offering 1280 x 1024 resolution and 40° field-of-view and compatibility up to 7-tesla field strength for functional MRI experiments
  • A programmable squeeze ball for a full range of verbal commands for brain activation studies

FuncLab, Resonance Technology's turnkey funtional MRI solution, has also been upgraded to operate in a small form-factor PC for smaller MR work spaces, according to the company.
