ADAC, ADM tapped by ION

ADAC Laboratories and service provider American Diagnostic Medicine have jointly signed an agreement with the International Oncology Network to provide the Baltimore-based network of oncology providers with PET imaging capabilities. The agreement is an offshoot of the recently formed FirstNuclear joint venture between Milpitas, CA-based ADAC and ADM of Elmhurst, IL. The venture aims to create freestanding PET centers and turnkey solutions for in-house PET testing.

The FirstNuclear program combines ADAC's PET technology with ADM's service capabilities on a contractual basis. A technologist to perform the exams is also provided, as are all the necessary supplies, marketing support, health physics, state licensing, and procedures coding, according to the firms.

The program also includes a network, created by ADAC and ADM, of PET specialists to provide over-read capabilities and educational opportunities for radiologists at each PET center, according to the companies.
