Major features of the new scanner include tissue harmonic imaging, directional color-flow angio (CFA), and enhanced artifact suppression algorithms, according to Hitachi. Applications for the system include radiology, ob/gyn, urology, and cardiac ultrasound.
Hitachi 6000 is also based on the Windows NT operating system, which Hitachi says will allow users to create application-specific calculation packages. Future upgrades will be software-based, the company said.
