Computed tomography (CT) is the mainstay of radiological imaging for the staging of bronchogenic carcinoma. It is the role of the radiologist to define the anatomic extent of the tumor and assist the thoracic surgeon in deciding whether the tumor is potentially resectable or likely unresectable.
