The American Society of Radiologic Technologists will accept applications for the Jerman-Cahoon Student Scholarship program until February 1, 2002. The two scholarships, named after Dr. Ed Jerman and John B. Cahoon, founders of the ASRT, total $5,000. They will be distributed in time for the fall 2002 semester at entry-level radiologic sciences programs.
In other ASRT news, the organization’s education and research foundation has been awarded a grant by Bracco Diagnostics to investigate how and when RTs in CT departments use prefilled contrast syringes.
The four-page survey will determine the kind of CT facility that would benefit from using prefilled syringes in terms of efficiency and economics. Medical Imaging Consultants of Clifton, NJ, will administer the survey, which is scheduled for completion by the 2001 RSNA meeting.
