Radiology Partners (RP) said that a California federal judge has granted its motion to compel arbitration in a lawsuit involving UnitedHealthcare (UHC).
Singleton Associates, P.A. (SAPA), an RP-affiliated, Texas-based practice, and UHC have been in arbitration since last year over a case RP filed alleging underpayment from the insurer. In April, UHC filed a separate complaint against RP alleging that the imaging services provider engaged in a pass-through billing scheme that netted tens of millions of dollars in fraudulent payments.
This week, the court stayed UHC’s claims against RP, citing that the insurer’s complaints are subject to the existing arbitration already under review between the parties.
