The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) has submitted testimony to the U.S. House of Representatives' Energy and Commerce Subcommittee regarding Medicare payment reform.
The organization is urging the committee to pass legislation that would institute a yearly inflation-based update to Medicare payment; modernize outdated budget neutrality rules; reform the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS); and extend the Advanced Alternative Payment Model (APM) incentive payment.
"Comprehensive reform is needed to address the multi-faceted issues undermining Medicare payment and the [Quality Payment Program]," MGMA wrote.
