Archived AJR articles online for free

Full-text access to older American Journal of Roentgenology (AJR) articles will now be available to nonsubscribers, according to the American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS).

Unrestricted online access will be offered on all articles two years after the publication date. Full access will continue for all materials beyond the two-year time period. However, permission for reprints or article reuse from free papers must still be obtained from ARRS.

The decision to provide open access was done in support of Principles for Free Access to Science, a Washington, DC-based nonprofit group that advocates broad access to scientific and medical literature, according to Dr. Robert Stanley, AJR editor.
