Cardiac cath lab procedures fall 11% over past 2 years

Total patient cases accommodated by U.S. cath labs declined to 3.75 million in 2008, an 11% drop from 4.21 million in 2006, according to a report by market research firm IMV Medical Information Division. This is in contrast to IMV's 2006 report, which identified a gradual 9% increase in patient cases from 3.85 million in 2002.
