Matrox debuts new display controllers

Canadian display controller provider Matrox Graphics has introduced Aurora VX2mp, the first in a new series of Aurora VX display controller boards. The new family of low-profile, single-board PCI Express products can power up to three displays, according to the Dorval, Quebec-based vendor.

Aurora VX2mp's analog NC display output supports resolution of up to 2 megapixels, and each TID output can support up to 2-megapixel analog or digital displays, Matrox said. Equipped with Matrox's Hardware Pivot technology, the board can also drive various combinations of color and grayscale displays in portrait and/or landscape modes, Matrox said.

Matrox is targeting the Aurora series of displays for PACS applications, as well as for modalities such as x-ray, CT, MRI, and digital radiography, according to the firm.
