UHealth neurosurgeons implement Avatar Medical Eonis Vision

University of Miami Health System and University of Miami Miller School of Medicine (UHealth) has deployed Eonis Vision to support neurological surgery patient consults.

Developed by Avatar Medical in collaboration with Barco, Eonis Vision allows physicians to generate interactive, patient-specific, 3D holographic-like models from standard CT and MRI scans, according to the vendor. During clinic appointments, neurosurgeons can render scans into a floating, 3D view, allowing the anatomy to be explained in a more intuitive format, the company said.

UHealth is the first institution to implement the system in a clinical setting. The glasses-free platform runs on Dell Pro Precision workstations with Nvidia RTX Pro Blackwell GPUs.
