Dear Business & Industry Insider,
With this issue of the Business & Industry Radiology Insider we bring you a novel concept in intraoperative MRI -- a magnet that moves to the patient, rather than vice versa.
The company is called IMRIS, and it has developed a 1.5-tesla scanner called Neuro II that's mounted on ceiling supports, enabling the system to move within the surgical suite. IMRIS claims the design is more efficient for surgeons and safer for patients by eliminating the need to move the latter back and forth to the scanner.
But installing a Neuro II system can evoke some architectural and workflow challenges. Find out what they are by reading this issue's Insider Exclusive article, which you can access by clicking here. Insider Exclusives are made available to our Business & Industry Insiders before the rest of the AuntMinnie membership can read them.
You'll also find a new IMV MarketStat in the Business & Industry Digital Community. Produced in collaboration with market research firm IMV Medical Information Division of Des Plaines, IL, our latest MarketStat covers the transmission of echocardiography images via a PACS network, detailing where images are being sent. Check it out by clicking here.
We hope you'll enjoy this issue's Insider, and remember to send any ideas, comments, or suggestions for future Insiders to me at [email protected].
