GE Healthcare has secured an $11 million ultrasound contract with St. Luke's University Health Network in Bethlehem, PA.

Under terms of the deal, GE will provide the network with 76 ultrasound scanners, which will help St. Luke's standardize its radiology, vascular, and echocardiography service. The agreement also includes GE's Viewpoint 6 automated reporting and postprocessing software, which GE estimates will save the network $300,000 per year in workflow gains, it said.

As needed, GE will provide any pertinent upgrades to its technology at St. Luke's over the next four years. Systems to be installed include GE's Logiq E10 for general imaging, Vivid E95 for echocardiography, and Vscan Extend, a handheld ultrasound unit for cardiology.

The contract is GE's largest ultrasound agreement in the U.S. to date, according to the firm.
