Samplify, Telemed form strategic alliance

Beamformer and semiconductor technology developer Samplify Systems of Santa Clara, CA, and Telemed of Vilnius, Lithuania, a provider of PC-based ultrasound systems and imaging software, have announced a strategic agreement designed to provide an end-to-end hardware and software development platform for medical OEMs.

Under the terms of the agreement, the companies will jointly develop and market an ultrasound platform for medical equipment OEMs that will use Samplify's AutoFocus front-end beamforming platform with Telemed's image processing and configurable graphics user software interface. The companies intend to provide ultrasound manufacturers with a complete hardware and software package to be used in creating products.

The partners also plan to develop a next-generation system that uses Samplify's AutoFocus technology and analog front-end modules, with Telemed assigned to marketing the system both to original equipment manufacturers and original design manufacturing customers. In addition, Telemed will become a preferred software partner, providing its image processing software development kit and integration services to customers of Samplify's hardware beamforming development platform.
