FDA clears Calgary Scientific cardiac software

Advanced visualization software developer Calgary Scientific of Alberta, Calgary, has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance for its ResolutionMD Cardiac software.

ResolutionMD Cardiac provides a suite of cardiac visualization applications, including calcium scoring and coronary artery analysis. The software runs on a standard desktop or laptop computer, and physicians using the application can complete a study and generate a report in less than three minutes.

In addition, reports can be saved to a PACS, electronic medical record (EMR), or practice management system for collaboration with a referring physician, the company said.
