Philips launches wireless DR detector

Philips Healthcare of Andover, MA, has begun U.S. shipments of a wireless digital radiography (DR) detector.

The detector is available as an option for stationary DigitalDiagnost rooms in single- and dual-detector configurations, and it enables imaging personnel to capture images of patients with limited mobility who can now undergo x-ray studies from their bed or wheelchair. The detector can also be used for imaging trauma and orthopedic patients.

The detector's cable-free design helps users comply with hygiene standards, and users can alternate between a wireless portable detector and computed radiography cassettes. The detector uses Philips' Eleva user interface and Unique image processing protocols.
