Esaote used the setting of the Medica 2005 conference in Düsseldorf, Germany, to show its new Picus-Just 4D real-time 4D ultrasound system.
Esaote said that in the scanner's 4D mode, a developing fetus can be viewed in real time throughout the pregnancy. Data from the scanning session also can be stored to save 4D movies on a CD for the patient to take home.
Users also can choose between the 2D, 3D, and 4D scanning modalities throughout an examination, including an array of application settings and calculation packages, DICOM-compatible connectivity, and a choice of convex, linear, endocavity, and microconvex probes.
