iCAD hits profitability in Q2

Computer-aided detection developer iCAD reported second-quarter sales of $5.6 million, up 330.8% compared with the $1.3 million reported in the second quarter a year ago.

For the quarter (end-June 30), the Nashua, NH-based vendor had net income of $46,000, compared with a net loss of $1.3 million last year.

The company attributed the sales increase primarily to its acquisition last year of CADx Systems.
