Acusphere revenues flat for Q1 2008

Ultrasound contrast developer Acusphere reported flat revenues for its first quarter of 2008 (end-March 31).

The Watertown, MA-based company posted $667,000 in revenue during the first quarter of 2008, the same amount as for the first quarter of 2007. These revenues were recognized in connection with the company's agreement with Nycomed for European marketing rights for Acusphere's lead product candidate, Imagify, a perfusion stress-echo imaging agent for detecting coronary artery disease.

The company's net loss after dividends for the first quarter of 2008 was $14 million, versus a net loss of $13.1 million in the prior year's period.
