Toshiba America Medical Systems of Tustin, CA, has landed a contract to install 13 of its new Aplio XG ultrasound scanners at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in Ohio.
The scanners are destined for the pediatric imaging division at Cincinnati Children's. Radiologists at the hospital said that Aplio XG's high-frequency transducers and small-footprint probes are well-suited for pediatric imaging. The scanner's color and Doppler sensitivities also support fine color detail, the facility said.
Toshiba customized Cincinnati Children's 13 Aplio XG systems by adding smaller-footprint probes to maximize use on small patients, as well as customized key placement on ultrasound control panels.
