Multimodality developer Philips Medical Systems has agreed to donate 50 ultrasound systems, valued at an estimated $2.6 million (U.S.), to the Global Ultrasound Equipment Donation Foundation (GUEDF).
GUEDF is a not-for-profit organization that provides ultrasound equipment and training to clinics, hospitals, and teaching facilities in emerging and developing countries, according to the Andover, MA-based firm.
The donation includes systems used for echocardiography, radiology, and obstetrics, the company said.
