Zonare raises $34 million

Ultrasound technology developer Zonare Medical Systems has completed a round of financing, receiving proceeds of approximately $34 million in additional equity funding.

Previous and new Zonare investors in this funding round include Montagu Newhall Associates, Kaiser Permanente Ventures, Earlybird Venture Capital, Frazier Healthcare Ventures, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Merrill Lynch Ventures, CB Health Ventures, Mosaix Ventures, Siemens Venture Capital GmbH, and Ascension Health Ventures. Zonare said it would use the funds to bring its ultrasound technology to market later this year.
