Longport plans alliance with Smith & Nephew

Ultrasound technology developer Longport has signed a non-binding letter of intent to pursue a marketing and distribution agreement with distributor Smith & Nephew. Longport has developed Longport Digital Scanner, a high-resolution, portable digital ultrasound scanner that captures and reproduces images of soft tissue down to approximately 2 cm, according to the Swarthmore, PA-based firm.
