Mercury, Acuo join forces

Mercury Computer Systems has formed a partnership with PACS provider Acuo Technologies of St. Paul, MN.

In collaboration with U.S. service providers, Acuo will include the Chelmsford, MA-based vendor's Visage PACS network as a bundled offering in its application service provider (ASP) package in the U.S.

In other Mercury news, the firm is showing expanded functionality for its 3D to the Core platform at this week's European Congress of Radiology (ECR) in Vienna. The vendor's Visage 2.0 Thin Client/Server package now includes application and workflow capabilities for visualizing 3D medical image data, either coupled with a scanning modality or integrated within a PACS environment, Mercury said.

It now features hanging protocols and viewing comparisons of multiple series/studies side by side, as well as vessel analysis and PET/CT protocols, according to the vendor. Mercury is also demonstrating the integration of Visage PACS and Visage CS, and a new client version of Visage PACS, Visage PACS View. The introductory package includes both viewing and basic features for image processing, Mercury said.

The company is also showcasing a workflow optimization feature for Visage PACS 4.0, allowing users to display presentation states. This allows image data to be presented to clinicians in the same way it was prepared by the interpreting radiologist or physician, Mercury said.
