International Isotopes inks deal with New Mexico

Radioisotope manufacturer International Isotopes of Idaho Falls, ID, has announced an agreement with the New Mexico Environment Department for a uranium deconversion and fluorine extraction processing facility.

The memorandum of agreement establishes license limits and paves the way to build the new facility in Hobbs, NM. The facility will enable both depleted uranium deconversion and fluorine gas extraction processes.

The company is scheduled to break ground for construction in the third quarter of 2011 if licensing from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission is complete.
