Siemens forms new molecular imaging unit

Siemens Medical Solutions of Malvern, PA, has formed a new molecular imaging division, to be called Siemens Medical Solutions Molecular Imaging.

The wholly owned Siemens subsidiary combines the vendor's Hoffman Estates, IL-based nuclear medicine operations with recently acquired PET firm CTI Molecular Imaging. Former Siemens Nuclear Medicine division president Michael Reitermann will head the division, with CTI founder and former president and CEO Ronald Nutt, Ph.D., remaining on as chief scientific advisor.
