NeuroLogica wins Ceretom install

Portable CT developer NeuroLogica has sold one of its CereTom CT scanners to a hospital in Pittsburgh, the Danvers, MA-based firm reported.

Allegheny General Hospital has purchased one of the units. CereTom is a portable eight-slice CT scanner that enables bedside scanning of the head, neck, and extremities regardless of the patient's location, according to the company.

In other CereTom news, the device was used to separate conjoined twins at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. CereTom scanned the twins during the surgery and immediately following, allowing surgeons to monitor the twins for brain bleeds before leaving the operating room.
