Philips releases new TEE transducer

Philips Healthcare of Andover, MA, has debuted a new transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) transducer for cardiac imaging of neonatal patients.

Part of Philips' latest Vision release for its iE33 echocardiography system, the microTEE transducer provides pediatric cardiologists with a diagnostic tool for imaging the hearts of newborn patients. It is roughly one-third the size of Philips' previous pediatric TEE transducers.

The company plans to introduce the device at the upcoming American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) meeting in Washington, DC. MicroTEE will be available for sale globally this summer, according to Philips.
