Cook launches antibiotic catheter

Interventional technology firm Cook Medical has introduced Spectrum Turbo-Ject PICC, a catheter treated with antibiotics that is suitable for use in contrast-enhanced CT scans.

The catheter is designed to prevent catheter-related bloodstream infections, according to the Bloomington, IN-based vendor. It has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval and is available for immediate delivery in the U.S.
