Mallinckrodt sues Bracco

Mallinckrodt, a subsidiary of Covidien of Hamilton, Bermuda, has filed suit against two U.S.-based subsidiaries of Italian contrast firm Bracco for patent infringement, according to the St. Louis Business Journal.

The suit, filed in Delaware federal court, claims that Bracco has infringed upon a patent for a device used to inject contrast into patients undergoing MRI. Mallinckrodt of Hazelwood, MO, is seeking damages, a jury trial, and an injunction to prevent infringement by Bracco's E-Z-EM unit of Lake Success, NY, and Acist Medical Systems of Eden Prairie, MN, the Journal reported.
