Advanced Magnetics shuffles execs

MRI contrast developer Advanced Magnetics continues to make changes to its executive staff.

In the latest move, chairman, CEO, and founder Jerome Goldstein has been appointed executive chairman, and president Dr. Brian J.G. Pereira has been appointed CEO, effective immediately. Goldstein will continue to work closely with Pereira in an advisory capacity.

Goldstein has served as CEO, treasurer, and chairman of Advanced Magnetics since the Cambridge, MA, company was founded in November 1981. Goldstein also was president from 1981 to 1997 and from 2001 to 2005.

Pereira previously served as president and CEO of the New England Health Care Foundation, a physician's group at Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston, from 2001 to 2005.
