3TP debuts prostate MRI software

MRI computer-aided detection developer 3TP Imaging Sciences of White Plains, NY, has launched ProStream, a new software package designed to analyze contrast-enhanced prostate MRI studies.

Current contrast-enhanced prostate MRI techniques use a fast dynamic imaging protocol due to quick contrast uptake in the prostate, particularly in cancerous tissue. This can negatively affect spatial resolution and signal-to-noise ratios, according to the company.

ProStream enables radiologists to enjoy both high temporal and spatial resolution, 3TP said. The technique uses the company's fTP+ (Full-Time-Point) algorithm. The company also believes that ProStream will improve the workflow of prostate MRI procedures as it does not require the use of an endorectal coil during the exam.
